The Inconvenient Tooth

Yay, a new laptop!

My Window to the World!

And what a world it is.

Beautiful.

Little Bodhi boy is cutting his first tooth.

It does explain some of his slightly unusual behavior lately, namely sleeping a lot more and wanting to nurse a lot more, plus a continual sort of disgruntled vocalizing. He is often talking to me in a sad tone of voice, his little eyebrows and mouth moving and his hands accentuating his facial and verbal expressions. It is so cute, it's hard not to laugh when he obviously is so earnestly trying to tell me what's WRONG!

I will tell you mamas that Hyland's homeopathic teething tablets WORK. At least for us. I dissolve the tablets under his tongue -- they dissolve instantly -- and he immediately starts smiling again.

Also he has discovered his HANDS. Like they are the coolest, most interesting things in the world. And frankly they are.

A mama friend and I were talking about how we can spend hours and hours just wordlessly staring at our babies, drinking in every detail, the mind opening up to a vast, loving, unnameable place, and how NOTHING else in this world lends itself so deliciously to such deep contemplation.

Louvre? Yawn.

Musee D'Orsay? Bo-ring!

Colosseum in Rome? Snore....

The soft peach fuzz on the back of Andrew Bodhi's skull? Weekend-Long Meditation!
